20 Pennyweights (DWT) equals 1 ounce. |

In order to properly answer this question, we would need to take in to account the karat percentage, weight, and the market price at the time. Each shipment is different depending upon contents. For fairness, we implement an increasing sliding scale of payment based upon the amount of weight and the nature of the material. Click here to see chart. But keep in mind; just because you paid retail price for an item, the price is going to be much less when it’s time to sell. Retail jewelers tend to have one of the highest mark up in prices of any industry. Overall, we can estimate that 98% of our Sellers are satisfied with the payment. The higher the gold content, the higher the value. The karat content of your gold is a percentage of 24 karat: 10kt is 41.6%; 14kt is 58.3%; 18kt is 75% gold. It takes 2.400 ounces of 10K, 1.714 ounces of 14K, 1.333 ounces of 18K or 1.091 ounces of 22K gold jewelry to equal one ounce of pure gold. A complete breakdown of your settlement by piece will be included with your payment. Learn More

myGoldTrade has an expert staff to determine the value of gold and jewelry sent to us. We ask that you do not send us items that you are certain are not authentic. If the items are real gold, they will possess a quality mark. By United States law, a "k" mark representing karat must appear on the back of an authentic gold piece, along with the manufacturer's trademark and country of origin to guarantee the authenticity of the gold. Any one of these indicates that your jewelry is gold:
For 10 karat- 10k, 10kt, 416
For 14 karat- 14k, 14kt, 585
For 18 karat- 18k, 18kt, 750
For Platinum- 950PT, Platinum, 950PT 10%IR
For Silver - STERLING, 925, SILVER
1/10 GF refers to gold filled and is not solid gold.
We do not accept Gold-Plated, Gold-Filled, or Gold-Leaf pieces. Please do not send anything marked in this manner. Vermeil refers to gold plated on Sterling Silver and will be valued as silver. |
